In case you missed it, one MAJOR designer in the bridesmaid world took over our Instagram yesterday. That's right, The Dessy Group inspired us all with behind the scenes shots, pretty prints, and gorgeous real weddings! We loved chatting with the Creative Director of The Dessy Group, Cindy Dessy, to learn more about their cool collaboration with Jenny Yoo. Read on to learn all about The Dessy Group.

How would you describe The Dessy Group?
The Dessy Group is a unique entity in that the main focus is outfitting the bridal party. Most traditional bridal companies' primary concern is their bridal lines, with the bridesmaids falling behind the bridal. Dessy Group’s number one priority has been dressing bridesmaids beautifully since 1939! It is truly a family business. Brother and Sister, Alan Dessy and Vivian Dessy Diamond, own and run the business and their mother Ronnie Dessy playing an active part. I am Alan’s wife and I have worked in the business for the last 18 years. Most impressively, the company founder, Ronnie’s mother, Margot Lerner just celebrated her 107thbirthday! Many of the people at Dessy have worked here for a very long time. It is an exceptional group and we all truly care about what we do.

Who is the Dessy bride?
Dessy Group covers pretty much every bride’s taste and price point. We have lines that cater to a more modern fashion forward silhouette, and lines that are a bit more traditional. Our color and fabric range is exceptional. We offer thousands of options as far as color and fabric go. The best part is that our fabrics reach across all 7 of our bridesmaids’ lines so girls can mix and match dresses and keep them in the same color family or shade. It creates a really editorial look and makes for gorgeous wedding photography.

How did the Jenny Yoo and Dessy collaboration get started?
We were approached about working with Jenny Yoo and we all hit it off right away. Sometimes things just click. Jenny was interested in reaching a broader audience with a line that was a bit more accessible price-wise and we love her aesthetic and approach. It really just worked out beautifully for both companies!

What is the inspiration for the JY Jenny Yoo line?
The JY line was designed by Jenny and I think it reflects her urbane and romantic aesthetic. The dresses are really wearable and light. We’ve already had girls saying they have been wearing the short lace dresses post wedding! Some of us have even ordered them to have in our closets for parties!

What is the favorite piece from the JY Jenny Yoo line?
Lace is definitely having a moment right now in the special occasion world. I love style JY510. The sleeve and the sheer yoke are totally classic but there is a little drama with the low v-back and the strapless bodice peeking through makes it sexy without trying too hard. Many of our laces now come in 12 colors so you are really free to break out of the neutral black/ivory rut and choose a beautiful shade. Suede Rose is particularly popular. Spanish Rose is a vibrant crimson which would be stunning for a fall wedding. This style has a sister dress in the collection (JY509) that has a short sleeve as well. Perfect for mixing it up in the bridal party.

What styling tips do you have for your new collection?
Have fun with your accessories! Everyone does not have to have the exact same shoes, handbags and jewelry. Do variations on a theme and pick different metallic shoes or different beaded vintage handbags.
