Tights or No Tights? What To Wear to Winter Weddings

Ah the great debate that has defined our generation...tights or no tights. Okay, we are being dramatic. But in all seriousness, do you bare your legs at a winter wedding? During wedding season, your wardrobe is a no brainer. Bright colors, nude pumps, and a metallic clutch. However when Mother Nature gives us the cold shoulder, we are left with a lot of questions. Read on to get our thoughts on these winter wedding wardrobe myths.

Tights or No Tights?

The answer to this question is all about styling. Do NOT wear tights if you are going to wear flats. Let's be honest, it will age you to the senior table. Open toed shoes are not conducive to the crappy elements of snow or sleet, so keep those puppies covered. You can't go wrong with a killer black pump and black opaque tights. Feel free to have fun with other stocking options such as fishnets or sparkly tights. They will definitely give that LBD something extra.

Outwear, Don't Care?

For the love of all things fashionable, do NOT wear your black puffy NorthFace jacket to a wedding. If you don't own a dress coat, it's time to man up and get one. Special occasions call for special outwear so hop to it. You won't be outside for long so yes you should sacrifice warmth for style. We LOVE a great fur stole or cool leather jacket. This will give your outfit a bit of an edge while staying on trend for the season.

Black is the New Black? Winter wedding doesn't mean a dark and dreary wardrobe so don't feel obligated to wear black. Stay away from anything that can be also worn to a 4th of July BBQ at Aunt Kathy's, but don't be afraid of color. There are so many rich fall/winter hues like cobalt, crimson, emerald, and plum so stand out in the crowd (and the photos!) and wear color.
