Real Wedding Q&A: Julia & Warner

Photographer: Carrie Hettle  | Bella Showroom: Indianapolis  | Designer: Amsale

We are kind of dying over every little detail of this wedding. The perfect blue hues, the breathtaking florals and the cutest couple!  Julia & Warner's wedding was beautifully captured by Carrie Hettle Photography of Indiana! Shout out to the stunning sister of the bride, Elisabeth, stylist from #BellaSeattle!

How did you two meet?

We both worked in the Population Health Management industry.

Details on the proposal!

On New Years Eve, Warner surprised me and drove us to Chicago (he had never been). He said we had dinner plans, but not until 9pm so I was sort of frustrated. He had told me to dress up. I have never been a huge fan of NYE parties that you pay for and have to stand in line for an hour for one drink, so I was skeptical. But, eventually we showed up to our final destination. The Odyssey Yaht in Navy Pier! We had a fancy dinner on the Yacht and then our song started to play (which was a country song and so out of element.) The event was more "jazz type". We danced and as we went back to our table, another one of our songs played! I got so excited and turned around and he was on one knee and asked me to be his wife! It was amazing...the whole crew was in on it, too! :)

Location, location, location! How did you choose your venue? What type of venue were you looking for?

We definitely wanted our ceremony and reception in downtown Indy. Warner is from Nebraska and all his friends and family are from Iowa, Nebraska and Florida (where he lived for 6 years). So, we wanted them to experience downtown. We also wanted a very church like feel for the ceremony and a classy atmosphere for the reception. We chose the Scottish Rite Cathedral (my grandfather was Mason here and happened to pass away only a week before the wedding so it meant A LOT!). We then chose the Skyline Club with the amazing view of the city.

Who designed your beautiful gown? Where did you get it?

My gown, which I am in LOVE with, was from Marie Gabriel Couture. And it was from their private collection.

Describe the wedding.  The look, theme, style, colors, etc.

I would describe our wedding as winter romantic with a hint of rustic-ness at the reception. I knew I wanted a dusty blue type gray and to incorporate some pine cones and simple ivory flowers. I also wanted pearls incorporated in our decor to play off the pearls on the back of my dress.

Tell us about your bridesmaids dresses!

I loved them! The color was perfect and fit all of my NINE girls beautifully. They were classy and romantic.

Any must haves, must dos, or can’t live with outs?  Anything you would do differently?

There was NO way Warner was seeing me before I walked down the aisle. I know the "first-look" thing is big right now, but we are very traditional. That was such an amazing feeling, seeing his face as I walked down the aisle.

Favorite memory from the day! Walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Warner's face...and tears! ;-)

Also, I didn't want too many flowers, just lots of candle light. I wouldn't do anything differently, except if I could have added more time! It was such an amazing day and night that went by WAY too quickly.
