How did you meet your Fiance?
Patrick and I met while we were both living in Chicago. We were both fresh out of college working together at the same company.
Tell us about the proposal!
Patrick proposed on a snowy day in April, yes April. I was out to dinner with some friends and had no idea he was at home planning away. When I arrived, this is what I saw...
How did you choose the location for your wedding? What type of venue were you looking for?
Our venue was very new at the time we started looking. In fact, it wasn't even complete. We knew we wanted something modern, accessible and something that wasn't going to be stuffy. Our venue was very open, had a lot of light and we were able to have the ceremony on the rooftop. We had a lot of out of town guests so it was important to have everything in one place.
The Bridal suite was to die for!!! So much space and a private bathroom! Every brides dream suite!
How did you decide on your bridesmaids dresses?
I had the hardest time deciding on the perfect bridesmaids dresses. I felt a little pressure of course and I definitely went back and forth. It was also hard because right when I should have been making a decision I was in NY at Bridal market seeing all of the new designs! It wasn't until we decided to add Adrianna Papell to our collections that I knew exactly what I wanted. I had been wanting to do something with sparkle and I built the rest of the party around my maid of honor's dress.
Who designed your bridal gown? Where did you get it?
My bridal gown was Ethel by Vera Wang from L'atelier Couture in Minneapolis. Best experience by far!
What was your favorite part of the day?
It is really hard to pick my favorite part of the day, but it was probably when we had just said our vows and the clouds literally opened up to leave the sun shining on us. It really was a perfect moment.
What inspired you when you were planning your big day?
I am not the "classic" bride and we knew we wanted the vibe of our wedding to be fun and comfortable. I added pops of color in the flowers and added lots of gold sparkle details to the decor.
What advise do you have for other brides?
My advice to other brides is not to stress the small stuff. I know it's sometimes easier said than done, but there are some things you just can't control. Just know that in the end everything will come together just the way you imagined. Happy Planning!
