We couldn’t have been more excited to sit down and chat with Natalie Deayala of Natalie Deayala Collection. This San Francisco based designer will be taking over our Instagram tomorrow and trust us, you will want to check it out! This girl has some serious style so read on to learn all about how she started the line, her thoughts on rewearable bridesmaids dresses, and what’s next for this up and coming designer.
How did the Natalie Deayala Collection come about? What made you decide to focus on bridesmaids dresses?
I was searching for bridesmaids dresses for my own wedding and noticed the same style dresses were being worn in most weddings I saw. Not only that, but I did not find anything that fit my personal style or the clean and modern look I wanted for my wedding. I decided to design my own. After photos of our wedding were published, the requests started rolling in like crazy and I knew I was onto something.
You’ve recently had a baby, congrats! How do you balance being a wife/mother/business owner?
Thank you! Margot is only 3 months old so I am just starting to figure out what works best for us. Right now I am bringing her to the office. I will have a nanny 2 days a week so I can have days where I am solely focused on my work. I try to shut off on weekends and just enjoy time with my family.
Tell us about your brand essence. What makes the Natalie Deayala bride different?
Our brides not only have amazing style but they are looking for something a little different. They want their bridesmaids to look like babes and be able to wear their dresses again. When I create new styles, a question I always ask myself is “would girls wear this again?”
How important has social media been to your brand?
It’s been HUGE. Instagram has helped brides all over the world find us. Many brides also find us on Pinterest.
We love how you style your collection! What are your top styling tips for your dresses, both for the wedding and after?
Thank you! The great thing about our dresses is that they’re so simple, its almost like working with a blank canvas. They can be styled with a flower crown, loose waves and wedges for an outdoor bohemian wedding or a chignon and strappy sky high heels for a black tie affair.
Its as simple as adding flat sandals or ankle boots and a leather jacket to style our dresses after the wedding.
Favorite destination wedding location?
Hawaii or Napa Valley, the photos are always UNREAL.
What is the best part of your job?
Seeing your wedding photos. We really feel like were part of our brides day and we get so excited to see your vision come together with our designs. I am also just genuinely passionate about designing, I love coming up with new styles.
What’s next for Natalie Deayala? Any sneak peaks you can give us for your next collection?
We are working on a ton of new stuff. I am excited to introduce our line of separates in the next couple weeks and we are currently obsessing over one of our just released styles, the off the shoulder gown. We are also introducing a bunch of new color options. Also to come, flower girl and junior bridesmaid dresses.
