Is there anything sweeter than these high school sweethearts? After 12 years together, Alesha & Jordan tied the knot in what could be described as a true family affair, including an appearance by their beloved dog, Tank! Truly, the Best.Day.Ever. #BellaDC

Our love story is one that starts nearly 12 years ago…

Jordan and I grew up in the perfect small town and began dating early in high school. I think we both knew early on that he was my person and I was his. Fast forward through proms, long distance college years, and beginning our careers, and FINALLY my dreams came true when Jordan proposed.

With a gorgeous oval diamond that he selected with the help of both our mothers and my grandmother, Jordan got down on one knee at TPC Potomac while “practicing” on the driving range.

Jordan and I both knew we wanted our day to be a family centered celebration. Our families have helped to guide and shape us into the couple we are today.

So, in thinking about the best moments of the day, it is those in which we included the ones we love: our ceremony being led by my grandfather, our mothers sharing their words of wisdom, and our dog, Tank, walking down the isle. Though that was all a dream come true, the most unforgettable moment was writing and sharing our own vows. Jordan and I have waited a LONG time for this day, and there is no denying the love that was shared on our Best. Day.Ever.

From bride to future brides out there, I highly recommend you and your fiancé sit down and discuss the non negotiable things. Through this process, you are faced with decisions and realize in some cases you must go with plan B. Be willing to be flexible in some areas, however, DO NOT sacrifice those non negotiables.

The biggest non negotiable for me was not having a first look. For me, I have always dreamed of my husband seeing me for the first time as I walk down the aisle. Girls, ignore the opinions of others and stay true to who you are, because it was the BEST decision I have ever made.

As far as my favorite memory of the day, that would be sharing our own written vows during the ceremony. Jordan and I are high school sweethearts and have been together for 12 years, so our wedding day was a day that I have been dreaming of for many many years.
